Problem

Weather data from the German weather service had to be gathered by hand and matched to locations for every analysis.

Solution

A Python tool that fetches the data automatically, matches it to locations via geocoding, and stores it in a MySQL database. Runs unattended as a scheduled job, with a lightweight Tkinter interface showing the last run and allowing a manual restart.

Result

No more manual gathering, the data set keeps itself current.
