Accessibility

This website serves businesses and professional clients exclusively (B2B). I still aim for the broadest reasonable access to its content, regardless of device, browser, or individual constraints.

As a B2B offering with no services aimed at consumers under the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG, § 2 number 16), mikeit.dev is not bound by the BFSG's mandatory requirements. I still voluntarily aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. This classification applies to the IT consulting services. In the Apps section (e.g. QuackTile) I also offer software to individual consumers. Once that becomes a paid consumer offering, I will assess the BFSG obligations for that part separately.

Contrast: every text/background combination is manually checked against the WCAG AA minimum contrast in both light and dark mode (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text). Keyboard: the entire site can be used without a mouse, every interactive element has a visible focus ring, there are no keyboard traps. A skip link ("Skip to main content") as the first focusable element bypasses navigation and header. Structure: one H1 per page, no skipped heading levels, semantic landmark regions for navigation, main content, and footer. Motion: prefers-reduced-motion is respected, scroll animations automatically turn off for affected users. Forms: labels are correctly associated with their fields, error messages are shown as text, not only as color. Images: editorial photos carry alt text.

There is currently no external accessibility audit, no automated test run (e.g. axe or Lighthouse) as a fixed recurring process, and no testing with real screen-reader users. As a single-person practice, I cannot fully substitute for that. PDF downloads may not be fully accessible in every case. If you run into a barrier, please tell me and I will fix what I can.
