Privacy for the QuackTile extension
This privacy notice applies to the QuackTile browser extension. It explains which data the extension processes and where it goes.
It does not apply to the mikeit.dev website itself. For that, see the general mikeit.dev privacy policy.
Controller
The controller for the processing under the GDPR is MikeIT. You can find the full provider details in the legal notice.
Local data
All settings, collections and layouts live exclusively in your browser (chrome.storage). They do not leave the device.
If you use your browser's sync feature, this data can be synced between your devices through your browser or Google account. It then stays inside that account. There is no MikeIT server that stores this data.
Permissions
QuackTile reads tab addresses and tab titles to detect video tabs and arrange them as windows. The extension reads monitor information to place the windows across your screens, and it can run a detection script on pages to find videos.
This data does not leave the device. It is not stored and not transmitted to MikeIT.
No tracking
There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no sharing with third parties, except with Lemon Squeezy for the Pro license (see below).
Links to third parties
In a few places we link to external services, such as Discord for the community or Lemon Squeezy for buying the Pro version. Simply showing such a link does not send any data to that provider. Only when you click the link and open the page do you leave our site, and the privacy rules of that provider then apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification and erasure of your data, as well as the right to restriction of processing and the right to object. Since QuackTile stores no personal data on MikeIT servers apart from the license key at Lemon Squeezy, these rights mainly concern the local data in your browser (which you can delete at any time through the extension) and the purchase data stored at Lemon Squeezy. Pro activation via Lemon Squeezy
When you activate the Pro version, the license key you enter and a randomly generated device identifier are sent to Lemon Squeezy for verification. Lemon Squeezy is our license and payment provider (Merchant of Record). The purchase also runs through Lemon Squeezy. Their Lemon Squeezy privacy policy applies to that.
