Frequently asked questions

What is QuackTile?
A browser extension that arranges several video tabs as borderless windows side by side, instead of constantly switching tabs.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Opera.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free covers up to six tiles on one monitor. Pro raises that to up to 36 tiles, all monitors and more. The details are on the app page.
Does it work with Netflix and almost any video site?
Yes. QuackTile arranges real windows instead of pulling the video out. That is why it works with almost any video site, including Netflix.
Can I use several monitors?
Yes, with Pro the tiles can be spread across all monitors.
The windows are slightly offset, why is that?
Windows draws invisible borders around windows. You can adjust the frame offset in the options so the tiles sit flush.
How do I buy Pro?
In the Pro area of the extension options. The purchase runs through Lemon Squeezy.
Do I need an account?
No, an account is not needed.
How many videos can play at once?
How many tiles run smoothly depends mainly on your internet bandwidth and your hardware (CPU, memory, graphics), because every tile is its own running video. There is no artificial limit other than the “Maximum tiles” setting, which allows up to 36. It is best to try out what your computer and connection can handle smoothly.
A tile looks wrong or does not play right, what helps?
Often a small thing helps: turn “Video only” off and on again, toggle “Hide chat”, or reload the page in the affected tile. The problem often sits with a player that loads late.
How do I report a bug?
Please do report it, that helps us a lot. The most useful things are a short description, the diagnostics code (in the extension options under “About” via “Copy diagnostics”; it deliberately contains no private data) and how the bug occurs or how it can be reliably reproduced. Just reach out via the contact below.
