Audience and level
Business units, admin, controlling with Access or Excel-heavy processes. Access beginners with Office basics; intermediates maintaining existing .accdb files. No full-time developers required.
Duration and format
Usually 1 to 2 days. Day 1: data model, forms, simple queries. Day 2: reports, Excel export, VBA basics in Access, maintenance topics. Remote or on-site, small groups (max. 10) for enough practice time.
Topics
- Tables, relationships, sensible keys
- Forms and subforms for data entry
- Queries, filters, simple analysis
- Reports and handover to Excel/PDF
- ODBC/links to SQL Server or MySQL (overview)
- 64-bit, backups, versioning, documentation
- When Access VBA vs. Power Query vs. Excel fits
Typical issues we address
Slow forms, broken links, nobody dares touch the .accdb, duplicate maintenance in Excel and Access. We work on traceable structures instead of more features without a concept.
